PASAJ artist Initative is founded on 2010 December and has been run by a group of 5 people.



Secil Yaylali (1972) had MA degree in ITU Industrial Design and in YTU Visual Arts departments. Besides her installations she does projects with participation of different social groups such as forced migrant children (Diyarbakir, Istanbul), psychiatric patients (Novara), teenagers (Istanbul, Alexandria, Berlin, Barcelona), migrant workers (Beirut), street vendors (Turin). In each project she creates an environment that supports collaborative production/exchange according to the specific needs/wills of participants. Shared time and relations experience bring the group to reach a common aim as product. She had residencies in Ameno-Asilo Bianco, Beirut-Zico House, Wien-Gols, Ramallah-Al Mahata. She is the co-founder of PASAJ artist initiative in 2010 Istanbul.



Özgür Demirci (1982) is an artist who creates works in various media. A large part of his oeuvre consists of videos, performances, objects, installations and works specific to the location of the exhibit.
Demirci obtained his BA in Interdisciplinary Arts at Yıldız Technical University in 2008, Istanbul, and his MA in C:Art:Media at Valand School of Fine Arts in 2010, Gothenburg. He took part in group shows and public projects in Turkey, Sweden, Japan, Italy, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Bulgaria. He had solo shows at Pasaj project space and Öktem&Aykut Gallery in Istanbul. Demirci lives and works in Istanbul and İzmir.



Giorgio Caione (1981) is an Italian freelance curator and photographer based in Istanbul and Turin. He obtained his MA in Contemporary Art at Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan. Since 2007 he’s been working with museums, institutions and art associations in Italy and abroad.

Among his projects: Studi Aperti Arts Festival (curator, Ameno – Italy, 2008-2015), 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial (participant, Istanbul, 2014), Prima Luce (photographer, Genoa, 2014) Chavez, di tanti uno solo (curator, 2012-14, Italy-Switzerland), StartMeUp (participant, Turin, 2009).

Among his recent publications: Curare, dialogues on curating (Asilo Bianco Editions, 2015), Enrica Borghi (AB Editions, 2014), Meet me in the Clouds (Pasajist, 2012).



Elif Bursali (1986 ) She got a BA in Economy at Marmara University and MA in Cultural Management at Bilgi University. She wrote her thesis about “artist initiatives”. Aside of being one of the co-founder of PASAJ, she’s been working in the field of tourism for many years.




Zeynep Okyay (1986) has got a BA in Philosophy and MA Cultural Management at Bilgi University. She studies and writes about cultural policies, sustainability, contemporary art environments, independent art spaces. She has coordinated several art events in Istanbul. Zeynep is one of the co- founder of PASAJ.



Asya Asyali, Ecem Erinanc ve Tuna Pektas are assisting PASAJ artist Initiative for this project.
