CONFERENCES, PANELS AND INTERVIEWS
This section of the Biennial is for adults. Tens of local and foreign experts in art and education meet with audiences, teachers, parents and students at Biennial venues. This gives an important opportunity to more than 105,000 teachers in Istanbul to widen their professional knowledge.
This includes a series of events such as author-reader meetings, autograph sessions, interviews with authors and workshops, where publishing houses and authors from Istanbul meet with children and young people to promote reading.
This section includes artists from different disciplines sharing their development processes with children, asking the following questions: Who is an artist? Why does an artist produce? How does an artist produce? For whom does an artist produce? With what does an artist produce? Does an artist has social responsibilities? Where is the production area? How does an artist present the works?
This is a program aimed at enabling audiences establish a more proper relationship with contemporary art, new media art, current art, installation works, videos and other artistic expressions. Guided tours are split into two, pre-programmed tours and booked tours. Tours are also organized by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education for schools and groups other than disadvantaged schools and children of Istanbul.
Divided into groups of 20 people, participants follow the Biennial under the direction of volunteer guides, asking questions about what they see around.
